Roy White
Roy is a regular, front running Irish Tarmac Rally Championship competitor. Roy and his super supportive father Sean had BTR build a new Group N Mitsubishi Evo 6 in late 2000 ready for the start of the 2001 season Championship opening event. The E6 replaced his troublesome and somewhat tired ex works Group A Opel Astra.
A new BTR built Evo 7 followed in mid 2002
The Evo 7 was followed by one of many Ralliart Germany built E8MR’s all of which proved to be badly specified and unreliable. BTR converted the car into E9GT specification as soon as it was possible after which reliability was restored. This car has been sold to Lee Rose in Kenya, winning the 2008 Safari Rally outright on its first outing.
In 2008 Roy and Sean bought a new S2000 machine from car the MG designers and builders MSD (Motor Sports Developments). BTR were retained to run the car, unfortunately regular engine issues have forced the project to be put on ice while the engine builders resolve the head gasket reliability. We look forward to getting the car out again in the near future.
