FTO maintenance issues
The FTO (Fresh Touring Origination) Mitsubishi, unveiled in Japan in 1994,
the FTO, based on the Gallant platform. The FTO was voted Japanese Car of the
Year 1994. Three different engine formats were offered, a 4cylinder 1800cc 16
valve, a 2000cc 24valve V6, and a MIVEC (variable valve timing) version of the
same engine. Generally Mitsubishi's patented Tiptronic automatic transmission
is fitted, although a manual gearbox was offered. The FTO was originally intended
as a Japanese market only machine.
Ralliart UK, later renamed Extreme Cars, based in Dudley, supplied FTO’s
semi-officially into the UK. In 1997 the FTO model range was revised, notably
by an front end look, the indicators and fog lamps being mounted in individual
housings and the air intake changed from an oval shape to a rectangle.

Winter to ensure seals etc
