Opel Motorsport Turkey Project - 2004
BTR won a commission to design and build a “one off” design Vectra 3.2 V6 Touring Car. Turkish Championship regulations stated that the original induction system be retained after the throttle body and the suspension pickups points on the bodyshell remain as per the original road car.
We built the vehicle from scratch in 14 weeks featuring
- Swindon Racing built and developed 340bhp V6 engine
- X-Trac 6 speed sequential gearbox, featuring a “flat shift” no clutch required gearchange system and “combination” design viscous coupling and powerlock design limited slip differential
- Proflex dampers
- BTR designed and manufactured roll cage and bodyshell
- BTR designed and manufactured suspension components
- BTR designed and manufactured pedal box and braking system
- BTR designed and manufactured steering system
- BTR designed and manufactured fuel and exhaust system
- BTR designed and manufactured electrical loom incorporating Motec Engine control, data logging and dashboard system
